The Olympia desk lamp is an iconic desk lamp designed by Anders Pehrson for Ateljé Lyktan in Ahus, Sweden, specifically for the 1972 Munich Olympic Games.
It was specifically designed for the spaces in the Olympic Village, such as the athletes' and press rooms.
The lamp was produced as both a floor lamp and a desk lamp; this version is the desk lamp.
The unique feature of the lamp is that the tilt and swivel mechanism allows the shade to be easily adjusted in multiple positions. The lighting is provided by two E14 bulbs in the shade, which can be activated independently using the built-in push button switch, allowing the light to provide 50% or 100% light output (see photos).
The original Philips incandescent bulbs (1x25W and 1x40W) are still installed; these can, of course, be replaced with LED bulbs if desired.
Condition: excellent, virtually as new with only minimal signs of wear.
