A beautiful and rare Victorian railway bench, crafted from solid pitch pine. This long, wide, and exceptionally comfortable bench features a reclining backrest, allowing the backrest to be reversed—an ingenious and rarely seen design feature of the period.
Made by Halstead’s Makers of Todmorden, this piece boasts a beautiful, weathered patina and exceptional craftsmanship. The exposed wood joinery on the underside is a rare and noteworthy detail that adds to the bench’s authenticity and character.
With wear commensurate with age and use, this bench tells a story. It is not only a functional piece of seating but also a piece of historical charm and industrial heritage.
