A unique and very rare piece of kinetic art from the Space Age era! Height: A remarkable 51 cm tall (a beautiful, substantial size with enormous visual impact, and highly sought after by collectors). Offered is an original and extremely rare French Lampe à Ébullition (Boiling Lamp / Bouillon Lamp), hand-blown by the renowned glass studio VO (Verrerie d'Orbe / VO Création Artisanale) in the 1960s/70s. Examples in this condition and with this specific design are very, very rare to find on the market today. This iconic object combines high-end design with physics. A small light bulb is located at the bottom of the all-glass cylinder. The slight heat from this bulb causes the colored liquid (which has a very low boiling point) to begin bubbling and boiling. The liquid and gas bubbles travel upwards through the glass spiral tube to the top sphere, creating a fascinating and dynamic spectacle. As soon as the liquid at the top cools, it flows gently back to the base. Specifications & Condition: Designer/Maker: VO (Verrerie d'Orbe / VO Création Artisanale) – Authentic French design. Origin: France (1960s/70s). Material: Hand-blown glass of high-quality laboratory grade. Execution: Advanced model with a full glass base. This is the most sought-after version, as the minimalist design ensures that the bubbling effect is visible right from the very base. Condition: The glass is in excellent vintage condition; absolutely free of cracks or fissures in the base and the spiral. The circuit is completely airtight and the liquid has retained its beautiful, deep color. Authenticity: Uniquely equipped with the original, extremely fragile VO brand sticker on the glass base ("Made in France"). The fact that this sticker remains perfectly intact after more than 70 years makes this a masterpiece for the serious collector.
