Very rare blue fat lava Ceramano Incrusta 219 vase, abstract design vase from the oeuvre of Hans Welling, top quality West Germany pottery from the late 1960s. The decor consists of a sand-brown grainy glaze with speckles of glossy red topped with a glossy fat lava drip glaze in fantastic shades of dark and petrol blue, an absolute masterpiece for the serious collector or enthusiast of West German ceramics. Ceramano was the brainchild of Jakob Schwaderlapp, the founder of Jasba Keramik. He founded the sister factory in 1959 to produce high-quality ceramics, artistic and often experimental, to complement Jasba's mass-produced lines. Previously, the production of such items was limited to small workshops. Schwaderlapp's concept was to recreate the look and feel of craftsmen's work using modern production methods. The company went public at the Frankfurt Spring Fair with an extensive product range, and the designer Hanns Welling was introduced as the man responsible for all Ceramano shapes and decors. Welling remained at the helm until 1962 when the position of chief designer was passed to Gerda Heuckeroth. In very good vintage condition, some minor superficial scratches on the blue glaze and a small production error, imperfection in the glaze on the bottom edge of the vase (looks like a chip but is not damage), but nothing disturbing, because almost all of them had a production error, because these are handmade objects, check the photos for more details!
