Crystal Candlestick, "Medusa Lumière" collection designed by Versace for Rosenthal in the 1990s. Diameter 10 cm, height 27 cm. The Versace for Rosenthal collaboration, launched in 1992 under the creative direction of Gianni Versace, represents the pinnacle of "luxury maximalism." If Bulgari for Rosenthal is the essence of imperial sobriety, Versace is the explosion of rock baroque, mythology, and pure color. It is a fusion between the excellence of German porcelain and the rebellious and opulent aesthetic of the Milanese fashion house. Each piece is a manifesto of Versace's visual codes: the Medusa, almost always positioned at the center of plates, cups, or as a teapot knob (often in relief or gold). The Greca (Greek Key), the geometric motif that frames the edges, a symbol of continuity and classical roots. The Baroque, with acanthus leaf volutes, exotic flowers, and "foulard" patterns that cover the entire surface of the porcelain.
