Paolo Venini was an influential Italian glass artist and entrepreneur known for his pioneering work in Murano glass. He was born on October 6, 1895, in Milan, Italy, and grew up in a family of glassmakers. In 1921, Venini founded his own glass factory, "Cappellin Venini & C.", in partnership with Giacomo Cappellin. However, the partnership dissolved in 1925, and Venini established his own company, "Venini & C.", in Murano, an island near Venice known for its glassmaking tradition.
