Carstens Tönnieshof launched the eye-catching "Mooncrater" vase series in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The designs came from the exclusive luxury line and were created by Dieter Peter and Rudolph Christmann. Inspired by the lunar landscape and the fascination of the time for space exploration after the moon landing in 1969, this set of 3 vases is characterized by a strong crater-like structure and strong, metallic glazes in chocolate brown with accents in red. Due to the metallic glaze, the color of the vases always appears different depending on the incidence of light.
