- Earthenware jug/vase number 860 from circa 1950s by renowned French ceramist Pol Chambost (1906-1983)
- Matte black glazed earthenware jug/vase with a glossy green glazed interior
- Signed "Poterie Pol Chambost Made in France 860" engraved on the base
- Trained as a sculptor, Pol Chambost chose clay as his artistic medium from the 1930s to the 1980s. As a Parisian ceramist, he explored various facets of creation, from unique pieces to small series. In this capacity, he was a leading figure in the French Chamber of Fine Ceramics. The flowing lines of his ceramics, with their sensual, bold, yet traditional visions, reveal the artist's passion for beautiful, useful, and decorative objects.
