The modular “Variett” bookcase designed by Bertil Fridhagen for Bodafors is a refined example of 1960s Swedish design. Teak shelves and cabinet contrast elegantly with black lacquered uprights and legs, creating a striking graphic effect. Visible brass joints highlight the quality of construction. The lower cabinet with sliding doors features an almost invisible cantilevered handle, enhancing the purity of the surfaces. Its light and airy structure reflects the rational and functional approach typical of mid-century Scandinavian production.
