This sideboard is a design by Louis van Teeffelen for WéBé, a prominent figure in Dutch mid-century design. The piece of furniture is characterized by organic lines and the warm appearance of the teak wood, which is typical of designs from this period.
The sideboard is crafted from teak wood and veneer, featuring a rich brown color that highlights the natural wood grain. The design offers an asymmetrical layout with a closed cabinet section on the left, featuring two doors, and an open compartment with four drawers underneath on the right. Above the open compartment is a flap cabinet. The distinctive organically shaped legs and subtle, dark handles contribute to the refined aesthetic of the furniture.
The sideboard is in good condition, commensurate with its age and use. Over the years, the wood has developed an authentic patina, which contributes to the character of this vintage piece. The construction is solid, and the drawers and doors function properly.
