A rare and spectacular covered candy dish or jewelry box,
an iconic piece of Vallauris ceramic art.
This piece is part of the modernist production of the 1960s and 1970s. It is attributed to the renowned master potter
Marius Giuge, a leading specialist in volcanic glazes.
The lid and curved body display a striking "Fat Lava" decoration:
a vibrant coral red and a deep black
are enhanced by heavy drips of textured white glaze,
known as "seafoam." The original "Souvenir de Menton" label
beautifully underscores its authenticity and history.
A work of art with a strong "Space Age" design, perfect for
adding a touch of vintage elegance and character to a
sideboard or a high-end collection.
