Price for lamp including shade and cordless bulb: €189
This unique accent lamp is based on a striking red, amphora-shaped vase with handles from the 1960s/70s. The vase's origin is uncertain, but stylistically it strongly resembles Italian-influenced studio pottery as well as decorative designs from West German Pottery. The ornamentally crafted openwork handles and the relief-like floral central motif, which gives the vase an almost medallion-like quality, are particularly striking.
The intense red-orange glaze develops tremendous depth in the light and harmonizes exceptionally well with the handcrafted lampshade made of Japanese fabric. The graphic sunburst pattern in warm red and natural tones creates a highly atmospheric lighting effect and simultaneously echoes the ornamental appeal of the vase.
The ceramic is in exceptionally good condition. There are a few small bubbles in the glaze, which formed during firing. This is not unusual for this type of ceramic and is not a flaw.
Dimensions:
– Total height of the lamp: 44 cm
– Vase: 22 cm high
– Lampshade: 23 × 22 cm
Conversion to a Lamp
The vase was carefully converted into a lamp. No drilling was done, so the original character of the ceramic is fully preserved. Thanks to an internal structure and additional weighting with sand, the lamp has a secure and stable base despite its shallower amphora shape.
Technology – Wireless & Flexible:
The lamp is powered by a rechargeable LED light source and is completely wireless. It charges via USB-C and provides up to approximately 12 hours of light. The light source is dimmable and can be controlled via remote control. Multiple light colors are available. It is also suitable for sheltered outdoor areas such as balconies or patios.
An exceptional, unique piece that blends Mediterranean ceramic aesthetics, space age influences, and decorative art objects from the 1970s.
