Dümler & Breiden vase lamp with Japanese dog fabric – cordless
Vintage ceramic meets Japanese textile design: For this vase lamp, we combined an original ceramic vase by Dümler & Breiden from the 1950s/60s with a handmade lampshade made of Japanese fabric.
The deep black, glossy ceramic is deliberately simple and forms a strong contrast to the black and cream-colored dog decor of the shade. The drawn dogs look almost like figures from a book illustration of the 1950s or 60s – sometimes sitting, sometimes lying, sometimes attentively upright. This gives the lamp a charming vintage character that appears playful.
The cylindrical lampshade is handmade in our Berlin studio. When switched on, the light background of the Japanese fabric glows warmly, while the black dogs remain visible as striking silhouettes.
As with our cordless vase lamps, the vintage vase is not drilled or permanently altered. The lamp structure can be removed again, so that the original ceramic and its collector's value are preserved.
Cordless lighting:
The lamp is operated wirelessly and can therefore be flexibly used wherever atmospheric light is desired – on sideboards, windowsills, bedside tables, bookshelves or as a decorative eye-catcher on the dining table, balcony or terrace. The rechargeable LED light source is conveniently charged via USB-C and offers – depending on the selected brightness – a lighting duration of up to 12 hours. Brightness and light color can be individually adjusted via the included remote control – from warm white mood light to neutral white. The light source is CE-tested and can be easily re-purchased at any time if required.
