This set distinguishes itself completely from the mass production of the time through its heavy, masterful craftsmanship and its exceptionally good, unrestored condition. Why this is a unique collector's item: Masterful Bookmatch Veneer: The backrests display a magnificent, symmetrically mirrored burr walnut veneer. The flaming, organic 'cloud' in the center forms a beautiful contrast with the clean geometric lines. After nearly a century, the veneer still joins perfectly straight and seamlessly, without drying cracks. This type of wood is simply no longer to be found. Solid Quality (9 kg per chair): The exceptionally high weight of approx. 9 kg per chair attests to a massive, solid hardwood frame and the authentic steel internal suspension. These chairs are rock solid. Artisanal Internal Construction: The chairs have retained their authentic construction with steel coil springs (internal suspension). No modern foam rubber, but the durable quality of yesteryear. The underside is neatly covered with traditional velvet for protection. Pure Craftsmanship: The seats are upholstered in the characteristic red velvet, finished with hand-hammered decorative nails. The slight, charming irregularity of the nails is proof of the manual upholstery from that period.
