This unique piece of furniture was created during the Interior Architecture study at Artez in 2024. The designer and maker is Dragan Koot (Liminalis). The chair is rotatable by means of a lazy susan fixed between the base plate and the seat of the chair. The seat is made of memory foam, ensuring long-lasting comfort. The windows in the chair are covered with iridescent film, causing them to change color in every light (yellow, pink, purple, blue, and even green).
The Rewritten World
The furniture is situated on the border between the imaginary and reality. The object stands in the space like an ethereal atmosphere. Sitting in the furniture, hidden from view, space opens up for the imagination. Perception changes endlessly due to the fragments of glass that subtly change color in the light. Reality is filtered and experienced from a different perspective. A movement of the object restores the connection with reality and its surroundings. The sculpture functions not only as a piece of seating, but as a mediator between two worlds, in which reality and imagination constantly influence each other.
The chair can only be picked up in person in Deventer, the Netherlands.
