For the enthusiast of medical history, high-end optics, or unique industrial objects: an extremely rare "salesman sample" (demonstration model) of the Carl Zeiss Universal S3B surgical microscope from the 1980s. This exclusive miniature model was not sold commercially at the time, but was used exclusively by Carl Zeiss medical representatives to demonstrate the operation of the then-revolutionary microscope system to surgeons. The model is made entirely of metal and is a masterpiece on a microscale. All joints, arms, and hinges articulate and rotate smoothly, exactly as the full-scale operating microscope did. The blue control panel features the iconic, original Zeiss logo. The object is housed in the original, custom-made wooden transport case, equipped with sturdy latches and a handle. The original black-and-white photo showing exactly how the model should be folded is pasted on the inside of the door. The original key to the case is also still present and securely taped in place.
