An outstanding example of early 19th-century craftsmanship, this original Biedermeier sofa was produced in Vienna, Austria in 1825. Elegantly proportioned and richly detailed, the piece embodies the refined simplicity and understated luxury of the Biedermeier period. The sofa retains its original grey-blue velvet upholstery, complemented on the back side by the period linen fabric. The seat is constructed with quality spring seat, offering both comfort and durability. The springs are in very good condition. Exquisite hand-carved details on the legs showcase the superior carpentry and timeless artistry characteristic of Viennese Biedermeier furniture.
Presented in authentic condition, the piece displays some, age and use-appropriate wear consistent with its history. It has been carefully cleaned and conditioned to preserve its beautiful natural patina while maintaining integrity and originality.
