Are you looking for an authentic masterpiece with a proven history? This monumental French Trumeau mirror in the classic Louis XVI style is a rare find. Thanks to the original, perfectly legible factory stamp on the back, this mirror can be dated to the exact day: produced on October 26, 1927. A beautiful historical possession that is nearly a century old! The mirror was manufactured by the renowned Belgian mirror manufacturer Jules Spruyt - Smets & Fils from Mechelen (Malines). The sticker proudly states "Argenture Perfectionnée," referring to the superior, artisanal silvering technique used at the time. The robust frame is made entirely of solid, heavy wood and finished in an atmospheric, patinated cream/grey hue with refined woodcarving on the top. The mirror glass features beautiful, authentic weathering (age spots). This gives the mirror that coveted, weathered historical look that lovers of antiques and shabby chic are looking for. With its height of 167 cm, it is a fantastic eye-catcher above a fireplace, a sideboard, or as a stately mirror in a high-ceilinged hall or living room.
