🔷 Il Paralume Marina | Italian Design Bronze Table Lamp | Murano Glass | 1987-1995
An original from the early years of Il Paralume Marina — entirely handmade in Italy, with authentic Venetian Murano glass and a brushed bronze base. This bronze version was never reissued.
All later models were only available in chrome or silver.
No identical example has been found anywhere.
Condition: Collector's grade. No scratches, no damage, fully functional.
Modern versions in the standard version cost €1,400 new.
This is the original — 38 years old, in a version that no longer exists.
📖 HISTORY & CONTEXT
Il Paralume Marina was founded in 1987 by the Italian couple Ferronato-Simoncello.
From the beginning, the company distinguished itself with a unique combination of materials: bronze, authentic Murano glass from Venice, and hand-sewn linen shades. This lamp hails from those early years—a period when craftsmanship still trumped speed and each piece was individually handcrafted.
✨ MATERIALS & DESIGN
The lamp consists of three striking elements that together form a cohesive whole.
The base is crafted from brushed bronze/brass—warm, uniform, and handcrafted.
On top of this rest two Murano glass elements: a hand-cut, faceted square base and a teardrop-shaped glass globe.
The facets catch the light in ever-changing ways, depending on the angle.
The result is a lamp that looks different from every angle.
The shade is original: cream-colored linen with subtle silver piping, handcrafted.
🔍 RARITY
The bronze/dark brass finish was characteristic of Il Paralume Marina's earliest collections and has never been reissued.
Later and current models are available exclusively in chrome, silver, or a combination of both.
After extensive research, no identical example has been found online. This isn't just a rare piece—it's a solo piece.
💎 CONDITION
Collector-grade. No scratches, dents, or discoloration. All original parts are present and working.
Used very gently—in like-new condition.
