Rare and highly collectible bar credenza designed in Italy by Umberto Mascagni from Bologna. Early 1950s three doors cabinet created with reverse painted glass door fronts, two doors featuring a woman walking down the stairs, the central door depicting a glass of liquor. The main body structure is made of solid European wood and is very heavy structured. This piece features cream vinyl trimmed with anodized aluminium. The exterior and the interior of the cabinet is lined in black faux ‘lizzard-skin’ leather and with geometrical patterned grey vinyl. The legs are also finished! This whimsical sideboard or bar cabinet is an interesting example of Italian midcentury design. In 1952, Umberto Mascagni created a new way of producing furniture using new materials such as PVC and anodized aluminium. This was provocative considering the market at that time.
