A String chair that perfectly showcases Tranekaer's craftsmanship. The solid wood frame is exquisitely crafted and, combined with the backrest made of taut black cords, appears airy and light. The wooden frame, in a warm wood tone, is in excellent condition and harmonizes beautifully with the seat, which has been newly upholstered in mocha-brown Alcantara. The net of cords ensures comfortable seating.
The String chair was designed by Danish designer Nierls Jorgen Haugesen in the late 1970s for the Danish manufacturer Tranekaer. Haugesen had previously worked in Arne Jacobsen's studio. Founded in 1974, Tranekaer developed into an innovative manufacturer through collaborations with renowned designers such as van den Berghe, Ostervig, and Wegner, placing the highest value on exceptional craftsmanship.
