Product description
This stone sculpture shows a female torso in a stylized, archaic-looking form. The figure is preserved in fragments - head, arms and legs are missing - which emphasizes its sculptural charm and timeless expressiveness. The surface is partly smooth and partly untreated, with visible signs of ageing such as patina, small chips and natural erosion. These imperfections lend the sculpture authenticity and emphasize its character as an artistic fragment. The implied curve of the hips and the sculptural elaboration of the upper body reveal an organic liveliness, despite the statuesque calm.
Surface: Partly rough, irregular texture with minor flaking and inclusions, especially in the lower area and on the reverse. These appear natural and reinforce the sculptural impression. Patina: Slight discoloration and stains, especially in the lower area, indicate a natural aging process - possibly due to weathering or storage. Edges: No sharply broken areas, but visible fragmentation - particularly on the shoulders, arms and head - which could be stylistically intentional or the result of age.
