Product description
Pencil signed and numbered, limited edition Tony Agostini lithographic print. "Bouquet Au Vase Bleu" is numbered 159/180, printed in 1980. The artwork is housed in an incredibly beautiful cobalt blue frame. Take a close look at the frame to see the lovely brushed finish. The art was custom framed to high spec. A panel of acrylic protects the artwork. 61.7cm Wide x 1.5cm Deep x 72.5cm High Sourced in Leiden, Netherlands. Tony Agostini (b. 1916-1990, Bastia, France) Self taught French painter and lithographer, Tony Agostini began painting in 1946. Throughout his career Agostini focused on varying subjects including Parisian scenes, landscapes, interiors and still life. Agostini's influences include Gen Paul, whom he made acquaintance with... along with Paul Cezanne, Francis Carco and Marcel Aymé. These artist's impact can be seen in the color, composition and Cubist approach seen in Agostini's own work. Throughout the 1950s and Mid 20th Century Agostini participated in several shows in France and worldwide including "Salon: Painters Witnesses of Time (1955), the annual "School of Paris at Galerie Charpentier." He also participated in "Discover 1955, the Greenshields Prize (1957, 1961)," and "Shapes and Colours (1957)." He displayed his work at the Salon des Tuileries and international group exhibitions... including shows in New York and San Francisco in the 1960s. Agostini spent most of his professional career living in Antony, Hauts-de-Seine, where he lived until his death in 1990. Condition: No damage to artwork. Frame has a few scratches. There is some discoloration on the top edge of the frame. This area would not be visible in normal circumstances.
