This Tomado wall rack, designed by Adriaan Dekker, is an iconic piece of Dutch design from the Mid Century Modern period. The recognizable silhouette and the vibrant red and white color scheme make this modular system a beloved collector's item.
The rack is made of metal and consists of white wire steel side panels and red metal shelves. The construction is simple yet effective, allowing the shelves to be arranged as desired. The wall rack has a total width of 111 cm, a height of 69 cm, and a depth of 21 cm. The shelves bear the original 'Tomado-Holland' stamp and are therefore an earlier production from the 1960s - 70s.
The wall rack is in good vintage condition, commensurate with its age and use. Over the years, the metal has developed an authentic character, while the original finish has been preserved. Although the item is in good vintage condition, there are always signs of age; minor discoloration, rust spots, or scratches in the paint. I have tried to capture this in the final photos. This modular wall rack comes into its own perfectly in a modern or industrial interior. It offers a stylish and practical solution for displaying books, small objects, or plants in a living room, study, or kitchen.
