Product description
Signed Tim Orr ceramic table lamp from the 1970s, made in an organic sculptural form. Exemplary of the artist’s distinctive studio pottery style, inscribed with his signature under the base. The hand-formed shape has a biomorphic, almost skin-like surface, typical of the artist’s approach to ceramics as sculpture and functional decor.
Tim Orr (1940–2019) was a British-born sculptor and ceramist who moved to Biot, France in the 1960s with Jacqueline Orr. Together they became known for their work in porcelain and stoneware, creating lamps and sculptural pieces throughout the 1960s to 1990s. His work is well documented on 1stDibs, auction houses, and design galleries, making this a highly collectible piece of his oeuvre.
Compatibility and safety: Works with a standard E14 bulb. Currently has an E14 fitting designed for 220–240V electrical systems (standard across Europe). If used in countries with 110–120V (e.g., US/Canada), an adapter or rewiring by a qualified electrician is recommended for safety.
