Exquisite and rare large round Swiss pottery dish with Thun enamels, dating from 1878-1890, signed/stamped Schoch-Läderach. The terracotta is incised with stylized floral motifs and geometric friezes, glazed with an extremely pale white/yellow background in shades of dark green, dark orange-red, yellow, and dark blue. Superb craftsmanship.
31 cm in diameter, 2 cm high, with a slightly concave center. In very good overall condition despite its age, with some signs of wear, including several relatively discreet chips/losses of glaze, two small losses in the center: one somewhat visible as the tip of a green leaf, and another, smaller and discreet, white one on the beige background. The glaze is cracked with age, but the dish is harmonious overall. Approximately 1 kg.
