This set of four Thonet S64 chairs, designed by Marcel Breuer, represents an iconic piece of design history from the Bauhaus era. The recognizable silhouette with the cantilevered tubular construction makes this model a timeless classic in the furniture world.
The chairs are crafted with a chrome-plated steel tubular frame, combined with black lacquered wood and the characteristic seat and backrest made of woven cane (webbing). The armrests offer extra comfort and contribute to the elegant appearance. The chairs bear the original Thonet label, confirming their authenticity.
The set is in good condition, commensurate with age and use. The canework is intact, and the chairs retain their structural integrity and authentic character.
These S64 chairs look excellent at a modern or classic dining table. They fit seamlessly into various interior styles, from minimalist to eclectic, and add a touch of design history to any room. The chairs were recently fitted with new backs and seats (not used since).
