Product description
Beautiful armchair by Otto Wagner for Thonet from the Wiener Werkstätte period, circa 1900-1909. This is model chair 6514.
The chair was reupholstered a few years ago with original fabric from Backhausen, featuring the Art Deco Pfauenauge pattern. Backhausen also worked closely with Thonet and designers such as Otto Wagner, Josef Hoffmann, and Koloman Moser during the Art Nouveau period. Unfortunately, after more than 165 years, Backhausen ceased operations. The chair can be supplied (for an additional charge) with additional fabric (approximately 59 cm x 135 cm).
Chair in very good condition with an intact seat and beautiful wood patina.
