Sculptural and original 714 dining table, produced by Cassina. This table was designed by Theodore Waddell and was created after being inspired by Buckminster Fuller's tensile and tensegrity structures. The base uses cables to act in a load bearing manner. It is a brilliant structure. This example came from a noteworthy Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania estate, which came along with a number of other phenomenal design works. The 714 table was designed in 1973, though this example was produced in the 1980s. The cut edge glass table top is in very good condition, only some very little scratches.
The glass top shows a facetted thick glass (12 mm).
Minimal traces of use.
