The de Sede DS-140 is a multifunctional designer sofa designed in 1985 by Swiss designer Reto Frigg. The model is known for its innovative mechanism that allows the seats to swivel 90 degrees, instantly transforming the sofa into two recliners or a double chaise longue.
The DS-140 embodies the postmodern style of the 1980s and offers a high degree of adaptability.
Swivel mechanism: The two seats can be independently swiveled 90 degrees. When the seats are swiveled outward, an integrated, leather-covered tray often appears in the center for glasses or small items.
Adjustable armrests: The armrests can be folded down, transforming the sofa into a daybed or significantly increasing its overall width.
Materials: The sofa is upholstered in high-quality de Sede leather (thick cowhide) and rests on a matte lacquered steel frame.
Height: 78 cm.
Width: 168 cm in its basic position, expandable to 232–245 cm with the armrests extended.
Depth: 85–90 cm in sofa position, 135–140 cm in lounge position.
Seat height: Approximately 47 cm.
Although the DS-140 is no longer in production at de Sede, it is a sought-after item on the vintage market.
The sofa is in very good used condition!
