It's a take on the classic. We dove into the future for a playful take on the Chesterfield sofa; a bastion in the interior design world since the 18th century. Recognized worldwide for its deep upholstery with buttons, horizontal backline and rolled arms, we took these features and gave them a fresh interpretation worthy of the 21st century. Dialoguing with the past, the present and the future, B+K embraces today's personal need for self-representation, allowing the chair to be personified by a simple replacement of the upholstery so that its owners can easily dress it to the event. A curved metal mesh frame creates a sophisticated skeleton on the outside with two coiled arms that emphasize the horizontal line of the composition. The upholstery follows the frame and wraps around it with grace and clarity, making dressing up an effortless exercise. Four curved slender tubes hold up the whole; minimal, light and subtle, giving balance and hierarchy to the entire design.
