A decorative cup and saucer set from the iconic Swiss brand Bopla!, produced by the renowned Langenthal porcelain factory in Switzerland. The set consists of two coffee or tea cups with matching saucers and belongs to a vibrant design series from the early to mid-1990s. The Bopla collection was introduced by the Langenthal porcelain factory to create contemporary, artistically inspired porcelain, often in collaboration with illustrators and graphic designers. The encircling decorations feature a lively mix of ornamental elements, floral motifs, and figurative illustrations. These are complemented by romantic inscriptions such as "Mon amour" or "Je t’aime," making the set a charming tête-à-tête for lovers. A particularly distinctive feature is the wide 23.75-karat gold leaf band that encircles the cups, lending a warm depth to the richly colored illustrations.
The saucers echo the motifs of the cups, expanding them into large-scale, almost collage-like compositions. The combination of vibrant colors, graphic ornaments, and gold accents gives this dinnerware set a lively, pop-art aesthetic typical of 1990s decor-oriented design. The series was created shortly before the closure of the long-established Langenthal porcelain factory and is now quite rare. The original Bopla! – Swiss made brand stickers are affixed to the underside, confirming its Swiss porcelain origin.
Condition: Excellent, lightly used condition. Decorations and gold accents are very well preserved.
