Mid-Century Scandinavian Modern Design Sewing Cabinet (Time Capsule from the Sixties)
For the lover of pure vintage design with a special story: an original 1960s Scandinavian sewing cabinet. This iconic piece of furniture is crafted from warm teak wood and stands on characteristic slender, tapered wooden legs.
Unique Design & Functionality
The cabinet features a sleek central handle. The most remarkable feature is the ingenious fan system: the semi-circular drawers do not slide forward, but swing open to the side in an elegant arc. This gives you access to all levels at a glance. The interior is finished with a beautiful light veneer that contrasts perfectly with the teak wood on the outside.
A Tangible Life Story (Included!)
This cabinet is sold as a true, untouched time capsule. The drawers contain the original, personal contents of the first owner:
* An original yellow 'Dauerkarte' (swimming pool pass) from the 1960s for the Freibad in the German spa town of Rengsdorf. Very special: the original black-and-white passport photo of the beautiful young woman who owned this cabinet at the time is still attached to it!
* Her beautiful, handwritten personal pocket diary from 1965 with a classic rose print.
* A unique collection of authentic vintage haberdashery: colorful spools of thread, an original red plastic cutting case with craft scissors, and a vintage measuring tape.
The furniture is in extremely beautiful, clean, and authentic vintage condition. The hinges of the pull-out drawers operate smoothly, and the woodwork has a beautiful sheen.
A rare and complete historical design object that immediately adds atmosphere and character to a modern or mid-century interior.
