Grete Jalk (1920-2006) was one of Scandinavia's most celebrated furniture designers. She first trained as a cabinetmaker and then studied at the Danish Design School (Danmarks Designskole). In 1963, Grete Jalk won a competition with her GJ Chair, the "Laminated Chair," which brought her widespread recognition.
Today, her furniture is part of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
