This table lamp is a characteristic example of West German ceramics, executed in the iconic Fat Lava style. The design is distinguished by its cylindrical shape with geometric cutouts, creating an atmospheric and diffuse play of light.
The lamp is crafted from ceramic and finished with a matte black base glaze. Two striking, thick rings of glossy red Fat Lava glaze break up the dark base and give the object its characteristic texture and color contrast. The geometric perforations in the shape of circles, triangles, and rectangles contribute to the lamp's sculptural character.
The object is in excellent condition, befitting its age and careful use. The original glaze finish has been beautifully preserved and the wiring is intact.
