Condition: Excellent vintage condition, with minor signs of age and use.
The piece is signed and dated by the artist: "Gilberti 78". Entirely handcrafted, it features a sculptural, dynamic form and a complex texture, straddling the boundary between functional object and sculpture. These types of objects were produced in small series or as one-off pieces for high-end modernist interiors. Today, they are particularly popular in Midcentury Modern settings and among collectible design.
Sculptural ceramic modeled entirely by hand, featuring a bold vertical relief and coated in a thick, milky white glaze with a pronounced crackle effect and metallic veining. The surface is reminiscent of solidified lava or tree bark, a typical artistic expression of European atelier ceramics of the late 1970s.
Base height: 54 cm. Sold without lampshade!
A striking decorative object with a strong artistic identity, decidedly more interesting than most mass-produced European ceramic lamps of the same period.
