The iconic SZ02 armchair, designed by Martin Visser for the Dutch manufacturer 't Spectrum, combines a consistently minimalist tubular steel frame with a freely stretched seat and backrest made of natural-colored saddle leather and is considered one of the characteristic Dutch designs of the post-war modern era. The delicate frame is made of chrome-plated or metallic-finished tubular steel and follows a clear, geometric design. The seat and backrest are formed from wide strips of leather stretched directly over the frame. The armrests are also covered in leather, creating a warm contrast to the cool metal frame. The construction details on the underside are particularly beautiful: the leather is stretched and secured using visible lacing and a leather strap. Precisely executed seams and the exposed construction underscore the functional character of the design. Over the years, the natural leather has developed a distinctive, warm honey to cognac patina. Color variations, minor stains, and different shades give the armchair its authentic vintage character and highlight every detail of the aged leather surface. Condition: Good vintage condition with clear signs of age and use. The leather displays a pronounced natural patina with color variations, stains, and partial discoloration. The leather surfaces, seams, and lacing appear authentic and appropriate for its age. The metal frame also shows slight signs of wear. The existing patina has been intentionally preserved and is part of the armchair's character. Dimensions: L60 x W60.5 x H72 cm, seat height 40 cm
