This exceptional Swiss sliding-door sideboard from the 1950s/60s impresses with its clear, functional design and the characteristic style of Swiss post-war modernism. An original label from Wohnbedarf AG Basel on the back documents the distribution of the piece through this renowned Swiss furniture store. The straight-lined wooden body features a warm, finely grained wood surface and rests on four slender, chrome-plated square legs. The three sliding doors in white, blue, and black create a striking design element. The long, gently curved wooden handles contrast sharply with the colored surfaces, lending the front its distinctive character. Behind the sliding doors are several open compartments with shelves and ample storage space. A unique feature of the construction is the asymmetrically designed top panel, which extends beyond the body on one side and is flush on the opposite side. This could indicate that the sideboard was originally designed as part of a larger furniture set or a modular furnishing system. A definitive attribution to a specific designer or model has not yet been established. Condition: The sideboard is in good vintage condition with signs of age and use. The wooden surfaces show light scratches, discoloration, and minor marks. There is also a small burn mark on the surface.
