Modernist still life by the French-Swedish classified painter Ove Olson (1903-1975). It was painted by the artist in 1956. The painting is signed and dated by hand in the lower right corner. Done in oil technique on one panel. Perfectly preserved with the original frame.Ove Olson, born in 1903, died in 1975, was a French-Swedish painter.Olson studied art with Tage Hansson at the Scandinavian School of Painting in Malmö, but dropped out in 1929 and moved to Paris, where he studied with Henry de Waroquier, Othon Friesz, and Charles Dufresne at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. In 1934, he made his debut with an exhibition in Strasbourg and earlier that year he participated in the exhibition at Malmö City Hall. Olson appeared regularly in French art shows as a member of the Salon d'Automne. After the war, he participated in several solo exhibitions in Paris and Sweden. His art consists of landscapes of the Parisian suburbs, harbor views and still lifes. Olson is represented at the Moderna Museet, the National Museum in Stockholm, the National Museum in Tours, the Institut du Tessin in Paris.
