High-quality Scandinavian mid-century design: an iconic, large cobalt blue Brutalist vase, designed by the legendary glass master Lars Hellsten for the Swedish Skruf Glasbruk (1960s/1970s).
About the design:
Lars Hellsten (who later gained great fame at Orrefors) was known for his robust, nature-inspired structures. This heavy, 24 cm tall vase is a perfect example of this. The body features a spectacular, organic texture reminiscent of rough ice or molten rock. The deep, vibrant cobalt blue color responds wildly to ambient light, giving the vase a sculptural, almost magical presence in the interior.
