Yngve Ekström was a Swedish furniture designer, wood carver and architect. In 1944, he founded the successful furniture factory "ESE-möbler" (later "Swedese AB") together with his brother Jerker. Yngve Ekström's breakthrough came in 1953, when his work was exhibited in the renowned Stockholm department store Nordiska Kompaniet, NK.
The light-colored leather on the seat is discolored due to age, which gives the armchair a great patina.
