This sculptural chair was designed in the 1980s by Luigi Serafini for the avant-garde Milanese atelier Sawaya & Moroni, a producer known for its post-modern and experimental furniture collaborations with contemporary designers.
The Suspiral chair is defined by a fluid, twisting metal structure that evolves into a spiral silhouette, mirroring Serafini’s surreal and conceptual design language. Its seat is reupholstered in white velvet, creating a striking contrast with the lacquered metal structure. This chair has been high on my wishlist for a long time, as it is as much a work of art as it is a seating object.
These chairs would be nice as a set around a dining table or as a single eye-catcher in a room.
