This Sun Series table lamp, or ‘Zonneserie,’ by H. Busquet for Hala Zeist, is a striking example of 1950s Dutch design. Its black shade consists of two layers, with an outer layer featuring adjustable slats that allow the amount of light passing through to be controlled. This creates a warm and atmospheric glow, enhancing both its functional and decorative appeal. The metal base features multiple adjustment points, offering a wide range of positioning possibilities. The shade retains a beautiful black finish, complemented by a rounded black base that adds a refined contrast. The balance between design, technical ingenuity and clean lines makes this lamp a wonderful representation of Mid-Century Modernist design.
