Beautiful set of stacking chairs from the Nueva X Line Omli range, designed by Niels Jorgen Haugesen in the late 1970s and manufactured in Italy in 1980 by Magis. These chrome-plated metal seats feature a clean, minimalist design. The backrests and seats are in black perforated steel. The geometric X-shaped base is both airy and solid. It allows perfect stacking of the chairs. Each seat is stamped: "Nueva X Line Omli for Magis - Made in Italy" Niels Jørgen Haugesen (1936) is a Danish cabinetmaker and designer. After studying at the Danish School of Design in 1961, Haugesen worked briefly with Arne Jacobsen (1966 - 1971) before opening his own design studio in 1971. From 1980 to 1995, he worked in collaboration with Gunvor Haugesen. Niels Haugesen has been teaching at the Danish School of Design since 1976. The Xylophone range of wooden garden furniture is one of his best-known works. Magis: Since its foundation in 1976 in the Veneto region, Magis has embodied the spirit of Italian industrial design. Through prestigious collaborations with visionary designers, Magis has transformed bold ideas into iconic objects.
