About Strehla:
Strehla was founded in Dresden in 1828. In 1930, the firm was acquired by Steingutfabrik Colditz AG. After the Second World War, the company was renamed VEB Steingutfabrik Strehla. In the 1960s and 1970s, the East German firm primarily produced vases and flowerpots, which were exported in large quantities to the Netherlands, among other countries. The work of the East German manufacturer Strehla is subdued in color, especially when compared to products from West Germany. Often, a metallic glaze is applied over the base glaze layer.
Signature: Strehla usually used brown clay.
