Elegant Art Deco dressing table / Psyche from Germany, crafted during the transition from late Art Deco to early Mid-Century Modernism.
This piece impresses with its clean, architectural lines and exceptionally beautiful walnut burl veneer with a vibrant, natural grain. Particularly characteristic are the softly rounded side panels, the sculptural plinth feet, and the asymmetrical design with integrated storage.
The tall, slender mirror with rounded corners lends the piece an elegant vertical line, making the dressing table a stylish focal point in the bedroom or dressing room.
The upper shelf is protected by a glass top, while an additional glass shelf below the mirror provides further space for cosmetics or accessories.
The design follows the so-called Streamline Modernism, a late development of Art Deco that was particularly prevalent in Europe during the 1930s–1950s.
The furniture in this series bears a DEWO quality seal ("Association for the Promotion of German Interior Design"), which in the early Federal Republic of Germany identified furniture that met specific design and craftsmanship quality standards.
This dressing table was originally part of a bedroom set with matching bedside tables.
