The large stoneware vase by Carstens Tönnieshof, West Germany, 1970s. A striking stoneware vase produced by the German manufacturer Carstens Tönnieshof in the 1970s. Its sculptural form, with a distinctive vertical indentation, lends the piece an architectural character, whilst the glaze, with its pronounced, grooved texture, is reminiscent of tree bark, perfectly reflecting the aesthetic of West German ceramics.
