Vintage marble & brass table lamp by Oscar Torlasco for Stilux - Italy Milano 1950s
Rare vintage design lamp in generally good condition.
Metal shade (with plastic diffuser) without dents / cracks / imperfections. A few small "ticks" in the paint.
Carrara marble base without damage. Brass rod with vintage patina (can be polished further if desired).
Unfortunately, little information can be found about Stilux Milano. Most lamps date from the late 1950s / early 1960s.
Various designers have designed lamps for Stilux, including Oscar Torlasco, who also designed lamps for Stilnovo and Lumi. This explains the strong similarities with these lamps.
Oscar Torlasco was born in Rome in 1934. In 1959, he received the prestigious Italian Design award “Compasso d’Oro” for his design of the Genoese street lamps. Specs:
