Attention folk art and character ceramics enthusiasts! I am offering this magnificent, large square plate (which can also be used as a serving dish or bowl) in glazed terracotta, produced by the renowned Spanish workshop Ceramica del Convento (Jesús María) in Aracena during the 1960s/1970s.
A highly technical period piece with a strong relief, depicting a pair of peacocks/fantastic birds surrounded by a stunning frieze of multicolored scales. The vibrant colors and glazed finish beautifully capture the light.
