Nice small convex mirror made of gold colored wood, with a convex mirror glass, back marked Artilux modele deposé, France, circa 1960s.
These mirrors are also called butler mirrors or witch's eye mirrors, because of their convex mirror glass. This is an authentic example from around the mid-20th century.
The convex mirror glass allowed the butler to keep an eye on the entire room without standing out too much.
In good vintage condition, some light wear marks on the gold coating, the mirror glass is slightly mocked up which is common with old mirrors. Normally this mirror hung from a fabric ribbon, this has been cut and an eyelet has been provided in the back in its place. Check the photos for more details!
